FOOLPROOF FUDGE
1/2 pound marshmellows (about 32)
1/4 cup water
2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 pound butter
6-oz. can condensed milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups Nestle chocolate morsels
1 cup walnuts or pecans (chopped)
In top of double boiler, combine marshmellows and water. Place
over boiling water and cook untilmaarshmellows are completely
dissolved, stirring occaisionally.
In large heavy saucepan, combine sugaaaaar, butter, milk and salt.
Mix thoroughly. Bring to rolling boil over medium heat and continue
cooking for 8 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent mixture
from sticking to bottom of pan. Remove from heat and stir in melted
maarshmellows, Morsels, and nuts. Mix until thoroughly blended.
Pour into buttered 8x8 in. pan. Cool thoroughly and cut into squares.
Makes 2 1/2 pounds.
