1/2 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE
1/2 CUP SIFTED CONF. SUGAR
1/8 TEASPOON SALT
1 TABLESPOON BRANDY
1/2 TEASPOON VANILLA
1 CUP SIFTED FLOUR
1/2 CUP FINELY CHOPPED BLACK WALNUT

CREAM TOGETHER BUTTER OR MARGARINE, SUGAR & SALT. STIR IN BRANDY & VANILLA. STIR IN FLOUR & NUTS. SHAPE INTO 3/4 IN. BALLS USING ABOUT 2 TEASPOONS OF DOUGH. PLACE ON UNGREASED COOKIE SHEET. BAKE IN 325 DEG. OVEN FOR 20 MIN. OR TILL LIGHT BROWN. ROLL IN CONFECTIONER'S SUGAR, IF DESIRED.
