34 OUNCE CANNED APRICOT HALVES---
---DRAINED AND PATTED DRY
3/4 CUP SUGAR
1/2 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS
6 TABLESPOONS UNSALTED BUTTER---
---MELTED AND COOLED
1 LARGE EGG LIGHTLY BEATEN
1/2 CUP FLOUR
1/2 TEASPOON CINNAMON
1/8 TEASPOON GRATED NUTMEG
1 TABLESPOON CONFECTIONER'S SUGAR

ARRANGE APRICOT HALVES IN ONE LAYER IN A BUTTERED ROUND 8 IN. BAKING PAN. COMBINE 1/3 OF THE SUGAR, WALNUTS AND 1/3 OF THE BUTTER. SPRINKLE OVER APRICOTS. BEAT REST OF SUGAR WITH EGGS. STIR IN FLOUR, SPICES, AND REST OF BUTTER. POUR OVER NUTS. BAKE AT 350 DEG. FOR 45 MIN. OR UNTIL TOP IS BROWN. SIFT CONFECTIONER'S SUGAR OVER TOP.
