Sedona AZ 2008

In May 2008 we went to Phoenix for a few days and then we went for a short overnight trip to Sedona. In Phoenix, we returned to a resort we had stayed before, Tapatio Cliffs Hilton Resort. All of their rooms are suites, but we upgraded to their "presidental suite". They have one of these in each building. The buildings go up the side of the mountain about 12 stories. The suite was fantastic, a living room with fireplace, dinning room, bar, sitting room, bedroom, 2 bathrooms, over 22 chairs, several TVs, etc! We found a great Mexican bakery, La Fama at 5328 W Glendale Ave, Glendale, AZ (I think that is the one).

We rented a car near the Hilton and drove to Sedona. We upgraded to a hot red Mustang convertable and played 60's music all the way to Sedona. In Sedona, we stayed at the Enchantment Resort. This is a very fancy, beautiful destination resort. They have the a spa that nothing can compare with, they are in a valley all by themselves. Very relaxing and excellent facilities and service. We did a hike on Thunder Mountain with a guide from Enchantment.

In May, the weather was great. Phoenix was in the 90s and the desert was in bloom and green. Sedona was in the upper 70s during the day and about 50s at night.

View from our balcony in Enchantment. Each building is 3 rooms.

A very energic walk up Thunder Mountain early in the morning.
