Jefferson & Monroe's Homes

Monticello is the home of Thomas Jefferson. Around his home are beautiful flower and herb gardens. Inside is a museum of period furniture. James Monroe's home, Ash Lawn Highland, is very close by. This home is now a museum run by the college of William and Mary. Peacocks run wild through the grounds. During the summer months the college has musicals and plays in the evening. People bring a blanket and a picnic dinner, eat in the home's gardens and then sit in chairs on the lawn to enjoy a musical. A great experience.
