New Orleans

New Orleans is good food and good music. We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel which is an old Grand Hotel. It was quiet and very comfortable. Preservation Hall had the best music but is a very small hall. We ate at Arnaud's Restaurant. This restaurant had the best food and a great jazz combo (clarinet, banjo and bass). We also went to Pat O'Briens for Hurricanes, Cafe Du Monde for Beinet and coffee, Ralf and Cookous for fish, and several other great places to eat. There are several street car routes. Our ride took us past Tulane University and some very beautiful old large houses. Bourbon street is a wild fun area. We enjoyed a Fun Parade by Jackson Park and caught some bead thrown from the floats!

We arrived Saturday and spent the day in the French Quarter. Sunday we took the street car around the city and enjoyed the River Front. Monday we went on a Swamp Tour and Tuesday just before going home we visited the Aquarium. We went in April and the temperture was a great 87 degrees (warmer then normal). We had a vacation package from American Airlines.
