Louisiana Swamp Tours picked up up at the hotel and took us to the Destrehan Plantation. This plantation was built about 1787 and the products went from Indigo to sugar cane to oil. Our tour then went to the Bayou. The Barataria Swamps have a lot of gators. Our boat tour guide feed them marshmallows and chicken. The swam right up to our boat. We also saw birds, turtles and a old Indian Burial Mound. Our boat held about 60 people and was very comfortable.
