We stayed at the Kaua'i Hilton Resort and rented a convertible
to drive around the island. There is only one main road that
goes part way around the island and there are only about 10 stoplights
on the island. It is a great laid back, relaxing place. We took
a boat trip down a river to see the Fern Grotto and later went to a luau. We
had a great breakfast of banana pancakes and a crab meat and
shrimp omelet at Eggberts. We drove to the Waimea canyon (the Pacific's Grand Canyon)
and took a sail/motorboat to see the Napali coast. We had dinner at the Beach House restaurant and then saw the "sprouting
horn" blow hole. Then we took a small 2 prop plane de Haviland
DHC8 to Maui (very smooth ride).
